@davec I think of Sweetwater as a retailer like Guitar Center. I also know it as an event venue. How do you envision using Sweetwater for a GTG? Some GTGs are meet and greet. Others have people bringing and sharing gear. Please share your ideas about the potential Sweetwater GTG.
So this, has shaped out to be a Bass Hang, please bring your gear for others to check out and share. we will have Pizza available. My Friends at Korg Spector are looking to giveaway a bass!, I believe there will be some other giveaways as well. I was hoping to have a profiling corner, but I'm not 100% that will work out. I will be bringing my Spector Euro, which sports Doug Wimbish's Personal HAZ pre ( from the original orange bass!!!) The Buffalo Head Nickel bass from the in search of a Smith Thread, and my Schack bass, as well as my 1960's Selmer 5/8 Upright.
It sounds like Wesport will be bring a bass owned by Bobby Vega, and hopefully Carol Kaye's Aria and Polybrute.
right now we have 15 committed and another 40 or so saying they are interested.
Trading and private selling is totally cool. No booths etc.
The real goal of this is three fold.
1. I am trying to build a bass community in Fort Wayne similar to what I experienced in Chicagoland!
2. I want those who have not experienced Sweetwater, to get that, in a comfortable way ( and get Sales Engineers and Customers to hang out as Bass geeks)
3 Celebrate!, covid is not the threat it was and we can do this again! Let's check out cool gear!, Let's enjoy a day, or even the full weekend!
