Monitor question I think, or amp, or hard of hearing

Lol, my favorite response. If only he weren't 12 hours away now...

After some reading and thinking, I'm leaning towards trying IEM. It eliminates volume wars altogether, and allows me to block out really everything and add back only what I need and only at a level that is just sufficient and no more. Seems safe and actually ideal regardless of hearing issues. Just gotta make sure everyone is sending a line to the board, even at practice.

Looking at Rolls PM351 to hear 'balanced' mix from aux then boost my bass and vox til they cut the mix just enough. For monitors I'm thinking start cheap until proof of concept and go from there. Nice things said about KZ quads, per KZ ZS5 quad driver testing update. Probably the least expensive quad driver on the market. $20

Thanks all
I recommend the kz zs6 over the zs5 because of the added crossover and better build quality imho. I am extremely happy with mine they destroy my shure iems. I run them thru a behringer x18 mixer hard wired into a p16m personal mixer on my pedal board. I had similar issues prior to changing my old rig. I previosly used a huge rack with a eden navigator tube pre two ampeg 4x10 cabs and 2k watts yet still struggled to hear with out cranking the snot out of my rig and bulldozing everyone away. Now I run a ampless pedal board rig with in ears and I have never sounded better. My two guitarist have also switched from full stack marshalls to going di from pedal board rigs. The only thing I miss is the intimidating look of all that gear lol. nothing looks quite as cool as a wall of marshalls and ampeg cabs but i dont miss carrying them or fighting for vollume
