Don't know really, it's the middle position that comes stock (same as in 2 coil SR5 humbuckers, post 2008). To my ear it just turns things ultra hi-fi. Not digging it really, much prefer the single+phantom coil option (3 coil humbuckers, pre 2008), that's why the first mod I did on this bass was a switch to solo each coil.

sounds nice but you like all that fret buzz? they use good wood in those basses and it can be set up for low action with hardly any buzz. unless you prefer that sound

You're VERY right. That was a mishap. I had just put new strings and, even tho' they were same .040" gauge, they were more loose than the ones it had. After hearing that I checked relief and it was almost back bowed. I solved it probably 1/2 hour after doing that recording, just wouldn't care to record it again. Lazy AF, I know, sorry :-( I like some "expressive" occasional fret buzz when digging, just not this much definitely.
