NAD: QSC has killed my need for bass amps

And the winner is...
OnStage tiltback RS7000
This was suggested (and tried) previously, and while not ideal, who was it that said: Let not the perfect be the enemy of the good.
Now all I need is a gig.

Sorry if this question has already been answered, but...
How is this any different from putting a typical compact combo bass amp in front of you and angling it up toward your face (a roll of gaff tape under it always works, or you could use one of the "tiltback" ones, such as made by Ampeg and Hartke), and also sending your signal to the house?

The voicing will depend on the preamp rather than the powered speaker.

IME FWIW:

QSC K10 (1st gen): I'll take this to Classic Rock-basement rehearsal-acoustic drums type setups with any Tech21 pedal and will always (strangely & surprisingly to me) get an unsolicited positive comment about the bass sound. It's loud enough, low enough, and tight enough for a rock band in that setting. I have also used it for bar gigs without problems. However, I wouldn't take it to an outdoor gig unless there's a decent PA system.

QSC K8.2: I took it to a small room rock rehearsal once and it tripped the thermal protection and shut down after a couple of minutes. I was running it as a bass amp & vocal monitor. For around the house, low volume practice it works fine and sounds great.

For bell bottom slapping or just a great overall bass sound, nothing sounds & feels better to me than an SVT cab.

For reference, I don't go for booming "wooly" or "woofy" (<-Talkbass terminology) low end. I think room resonance matters greatly too. IMHO.
