WOW! What an awesome story to go with the bass. The bass is STUNNING and well preserved, but to have a photo of the original owner jamming on it just takes the cake!!!

Heyo! Exciting weekend for me. I welcomed to the family a 1963 Fender Precision. Bought from the family of the original owner ("Shorty") who performed in the NJ area and opened for Conway Twitty at one point. They sent along some photos of the original owner playing the bass through the years, which I feel very fortunate to have.
To my surprise had a nice old pair of Fender Mastersound Flatwounds on it and so the frets are completely preserved. OG case, covers, pickups, pickguard, polishing cloth... the works!
I tend to reach for my old Jazzes just because the nut width is a little more familiar, but I plugged in this old gal and I couldn't help but crack a big smile -- what a punchy, full, beautiful sound.

This band opened for them, Conway Twitty's original bass player's family just sold his original P bass, it was a first series and nice, forgot where I saw it and I cant find it.
I think everyone who looked at this post had the same reaction containing a four letter expletive. Few things like this ever inspire envy in me. I had to go take a drink of some water after looking (drooling) at this bass.
Some people are lucky to get an original anything, you not only got an original, but pictures of the original playing the original... Jeez.

I had a 1961 P Bass that was refinished. Loved that bass but it was beat to $#!t. Yours is in really good shape, considering the age. Especially the neck (that was really beat on mine). Enjoy!
