NBD! 1964 J

Gosh thanks for all the comments. I'm stoked you guys are enjoying it as much as I am. To answer some q's:

@Oldtimer definitely some replaced bits -- guard is aftermarket. Had incorrect strap buttons weirdly so the ones on now are replacements, and the screws on the control plate should technically be panheads.

@nixdad we're bass twins! There's evidence of blue in the cavities but it's so hard to know whether it was the original color or someone decided to eventually strip it because they botched a lpb refinish. Would be cool if that was the case tho!

@Smooth_bass88 MJT did the refin for me. They're great to work with and I was pretty specific about what I wanted. The headstock was stripped too so I decided to go all out :)

@10cc before below. Pickups original

NBD NBD! Had to wait an extra few months for this one because it had it's finish stripped by the previous owner. We just clicked and so I wanted to try bring it back to it's former glory.

We're currently getting to know each other, but I'm really enjoying it so far. I love the different personalities of these old Fenders.

Wanted to share :)

Birth year bass for me!

That's fantastic!

But you said you had to wait some months because it was stripped by the previous owner.... Did you have it refinished?

Either way... It looks great

Congrats

Looks great stripped as well... But the refin is one of the most tastefully done and realistic I've seen!
