NBD (almost)!!! Bluesman Vintage custom build is ready to go.

It takes a lot of freakin' nerve to post something on here that is so awesome!! I used to think that the builds they have done with the Tbird pickups on a J body were about as good as you could get. But, this a whole other level of cool, especially with the Lollars! I hesitate to ask about the headstock, but is it Tele style?

TB - what color is it? Is it surf green? Looks like faded sonic blue? I like it.

Due to some unforeseen circumstances, I may not be keeping this bass. We’ll see. Hopefully it works out for the best.

Update: in case anyone is interested, looks like I’m keeping it, but sending it back to Bluesman for some changes. I’ll explain more in a later post. For now, I’m glad it worked out.

NICE! You are going to have a blast playing that bass!

I played this bass tonight at my church for the Sunday service taping. It killed!! Amazing tone. And the fretwork is stellar. Only downside is the bass is just north of 10lb & my shoulder was feeling it after a couple of hours. I'm working with Bluesman Vintage to reduce the weight & also slim down the profile on the jazz neck a bit more. What a great company to deal with. They truly stand behind their product.

Nice! Glad you're keeping it. It seems like the kind of thing you'd regret moving. Are they going to chamber it a bit?
We talked about that, but after weighing options, he’s cutting a new body out of a lighter weight wood. He works a lot with swamp cypress and white pine for guitar/bass bodies. White pine is a good lightweight alternative & should open up the upper-mids a bit. Those Lollar t-bird pickups are pretty dark so it may work out for the best. Fingers crossed!

lollar's dark? just curious, what value pots/cap are in it?
i have a lollar t equipped bass that's not what i'd consider dark at all.
