NBD: BC Rich Ironbird

A couple of days ago I received this Ironbird in great condition. It's an IB-657, which I've only found in the 1992 catalog. It arrived with the original tag and synthetic leather bag. It plays great, electronics are clean and the neck is straight and nice. I will probably gig with it already next Saturday. The only issue is the neckdive, which is pretty noticable. I'll probably change tuners to something more lightweight, and add some fitness weights to my guitar strap, and that should solve most of it.

Easy fix and it works take it form a guy who has played a lot of basses that neck dive including B.C. Rich Mockingbirds....

Will definitely try that out as well! I move around a lot and lift my bass up while playing plus a lot of other silly moves, so the best solution for me is to have it hanging freely.

With great badassery comes great responsibility.

Rock the paint off it.

I will! I definitely hasn't come to a retirement home.

Sick! I was a huge BC rich fan, back in the day, and the Ironbird was always my favorite. Love it.

^ Definitely this right here.
Moving the rear strap button to the bridge block area and passing the strap over the upper fin (and, partly, the bridge itself but, as long as the strap doesn't interfere with any of the saddles, it'll be all good) would all but cure neck dive.

Just use a 4” wide strap with suede backing. I wouldn’t change a thing about the bass. Congratulations!
