NBD - Fender Justin Meldal-Johnsen Road Worn Mustang Bass

I’m pretty stoked. I survived a couple delays in production and now have this rad bass in hand. Played it at church this morning and it did not disappoint.

No. I’ve played the new Offset PJ Mustangs and a CIJ. Of the three, this one is the clear winner.

What did you like better about the JMJ than the P/J version? I'm interested in the PJ just because I don't own one and I could put in my own choice of pickups (Dimarzio Model P and J) which would make that bridge pickup really honk. Thanks.

I prefer the nut on the JMJ—it’s a 1.625”. I’m with Goldilocks when it comes to nut width. Also, I’m not a huge fan of the pickups and electronics on the PJ. I know a lot of time and care was put into the JMJ pickup and tone knob—and it shows in the sound.
