This is my first posting of a “New Bass Day”.
Since 1978 I have bought several new basses including Rickenbacker, Alembic, Gibson, Guild, Mike Tobias/MTD, Music Man, etc.
I’ve never owned a Fender bass, but I’ve tried several Fender’s in the past and I found them slightly difficult to play, mainly because they were not set up properly in the music stores or their particular neck type was not comfortable for me.
I like the Fender tone and I believed that there would be an appropriate Fender Bass that I could connect with, as long as I choose the correct specs, model and tone.
Recently, I took a chance with an online Reverb store purchase of a “case-queen” in immaculate condition. 2018 Limited Edition Lightweight Ash American Professional Jazz Bass with a Sienna Sunburst finish. Only 150 of these limited edition basses were produced for the USA.
As luck would have it, the fit and finish of this bass is just perfect for me, like no other bass I had ever held before. I absolutely love the variable tones as each note appears to be articulate and pronounce running through the Mark Bass 500 W 2x10 amplification that accentuates the uncolored pure passive tone of this Fender Jazz Bass.
