NBD - Fender PJ Bass build

Beautiful!!! We're on the same wavelength; I've got a black P bass build that I've had a hankering to put a blocked maple neck on, bit the bullet and also got a 2017 Geddy Jazz neck (should be coming tomorrow). Not blacked out, I took off my tort guard (oh, the horror...) and put on a black 1 ply guard I had laying around. It has a Geezer, vintage saddles bent plate bridge (my fave), and will have a beautiful blocked neck SOON (hopefully I can do the surgery on neck replacement).
And, due to me pulling the neck off this bass, I'll have the parts to put together another P bass!
I'll have some pics up of both, but I MUST again, state, that's a gorgeous PJ you put together there! I'm sure it sounds as fab as it looks. Enjoy!

Now, to really mess with people, add some creme covers to those pickups!

I guess we should start a club! I've been working on a Geddy P for a little while with some odds and ends I've come across. This one's based off a J body with a P route. So far it plays wonderfully, but I'm still tinkering with pickup choices. I started with a quarter pounder in the neck, but that's not for me. Then I came across an SJB-1 for the bridge (already in there) and an SPB-1 on the way. I'm excited to give that a go. But I think the Geezers are probably a great choice. I'll probably be trying them next...

Anyway, nice work!

I finally got to put together a bass I've always wanted. My absolute favorite look on a bass is a black body with a maple black block neck. I've been looking to assemble a PJ in this configuration for a while, and I finally had that vision come to life. Happy to say, it's all finished and certainly doesn't disappoint!

The bass parts consist of a 2006 MIM Precision Special body, 2017 MIM Geddy Lee neck, EMG Geezer pickups (all passive), black Gotoh bridge, and black Hipshot tuners. The bass is nice and light, which is key for me. The MIM neck is a very pleasant surprise. It plays amazing and is a bit thicker than the MIJ Geddy necks I've had in the past. I'd been wanting to try out the Geezer pickups for a while and they just sound awesome! The solderless connection makes them that much better.

All in all, I'm extremely happy with how it turned out, and just wanted to share!
