Need help deciding between cab sim/ir pedals

For live situations, I have a question...

My band is working on going completely IEM on stage and only run through house PA, no stage amps.

Do I need to run IR/CabSim to the PA? It’s weird because, of course the PA mains are speakers. Why would I need a CabSim for a speaker output?

However, the sound in our monitors will be similar to listening to a dry signal. So I do use a Preamp/DI.

Is an IR/CabSim helpful in a live set up?

You don’t have HAVE to run a cab sim
Lots of people like the DI’d sound in a PA
it is worth trying though as I feel it greatly improves the bass tone and makes it feel / sound more like it’s coming from a bass amp. This goes DOUBLE if you run any kind of dirt and or rock type time’s. The cab sim really improves the sound and reduces the “angry bees “ type buzziness you can get with overdrive or fuzz. I’d say a cab sim is less needed for cleaner type tones but I still find I prefer what it does to the tone. So experiment and see but it is definitely not required.

I've had the Two Notes Cab M+, I really wanted to like it, if only to be a dual platform for bass and guitar.
I kept hearing digital artifacts in the sound, it bothered me so much, that I had to return it after 48 hours of testing it. Your mileage may vary.

Interesting , that wasn’t my experience with the Cab M at all. I wonder if there’s was something weird with the IR’s you were using or maybe a defective unit ??

I use the digitech cabdriver. It's ok! The 4x10 sim sounds the best.
I went this route as I like that it has two channels if i want separate cab sim for octave up/fake guitar path. I like the 1x 15 sim myself. It doesn’t have the ability to load new IRs which the OP wanted, but they were almost 50% off MSRP from musicians friend on eBay, so cheaper than many other options to test if OP liked what cab IR does for their sound.

The NUX Solid Studio IR & Power Amp Simulator utilize double the resolution of the IR's compared to most of the the IR cab simulators you list, that is 2048 samples and 46ms (88,2kHz at 32Bit), which gives a more detailed and realistic simulation, and it got a switchable poweramp simulator as well, with 3 power-tube options.

However it only have capasity to store 8 IR's a time, but honestly, how many do you really need at once.

And it only costs slightly more than the Mooer Radar.

Personally though I prefer a faux, EQ based, cab sim, basically just being a LPF and HPF, and some relatively minor additional EQ adjustments, into a preamp -> poweramp -> full range PA speaker/PA

Less intrusive to the authentic tone of the bass, but of course less authentic to how it would sound played through a traditional bass cab as well.

Would using a Tech21 VT Bass DI (or other Tech21s with cab sim) into the DAW via interface solve this specific issue? Provides cab sim, balanced out, and if you gig can be used live as well. Similar to the DG Elements, just different sound palate.
