Need help deciding between two 5-strings

For a little over a hundred dollars more you can get a 5 string Lakland. And it plays like a $1000+ bass. The oval bridge is fine. What's not cool imo are those Music Man basses with the oval pickguard. Just pointing out another option that's not totally outrageous in price and is much higher quality.

The ASP on the Lakland is $899. The ASP on the Ibanez is $399. Are you saying that Lakland loses value that drastically?

I'm saying you can get a used, 10+ year old, Lakland that plays like new for around $500. $899 is what you'd pay for a brand new one.

I would take the Ibanez hands down over the Washburn. I have owned probably close to a dozen Ibanez basses and guitars and every single one has been really good quality. Even the lower end models. I owned 1 mid range Washburn and have played several others. I kept my one mid range Washburn not even a year and sold it. I’m just not that impressed with what Washburn puts out or has put out in the past.

If it were me i would try to find a MIK SR505. Heavier than the current production but not prone to the finish issues these are notorious for. They can also produce about any tone you desire too. Mine was made in 2006.
