OP here. Really appreciate the input.
I found a pedal that does exactly what I asked for; the Keeley Multi Echo. So I went to my local store, but they didn't carry any. Instead I tried the Carbon Copy, the Malekko Ekko 616, and the Catalinbread Adineko. The Carbon Copy's lowest delay time got a bit too hollow sounding to work. The Ekko was probably the one which would work best to what I asked for in the OP. However, I couldn't resist the inspirational character of the Adineko, so that's the one I went with. We'll see if it flies when used as intended or if I need to get an additional pedal.
