New Aguilar Tone Hammer preamp pedal

How much the new one weights?

I had the classic one moons ago, and I was just curious and just got another v1 today. As I remembered it's like a brick. But oh, after a lot of preamps and whatnot the TH has surprised me, it sounds great. I'd consider the new one if the weight is more reasonable.

the original weighs 1lb 14.8 oz (very heavy)
the new one weighs 13.9 oz (more than 1lb less)

Strongly considering the TH V2 to solve my desktop, headphone only, Aux In playing. Any other strong contenders I should be looking at?
Ampeg SCR-DI, bought it just for that and because it can be powered by a 9v battery. Ended-up I'm using it for more things as I can drop it in my gigbag front pocket with an XLR cable and be up-and-running in 2 minutes. Bypass mode is like a standalone active DI.

Had the original, still missing the high mids I love. 1.5K-2.5K.
I would have been way more interested if it was for this little feature. I like my GK400RB, but that bright switch hits the high mids in that range nicely(also missing those freqs on the normal eq). My pedals do the rest.

It never sounded bad(clean, I never liked the overdrive), but I found what I wanted with companies like Darkglass, and at times, Tech21.

Opposite opinion, that's why I love it. Even with everything at noon it warms everything up by taking out those frequencies.

That’s what I like about the Darkglass Vintage.
It sounds warm but also has those clanky high mids if you want them.

it took out the frequencies I base my tone off off haha.

My GK400RB doesn’t have those on a dial but the bright switch takes care of that by inserting them.

Anytime I see sweepable mids that end at 1k I frown. Lol

It’s too bad because I didn’t think the Tonehammer sounded bad, but between the lack of emphasizing bite and the muddy(read; warm for many) overdrive, it just wasn’t for me.

Yep its not for everyone, no pre amp is. If you're a tone hammer player, Dark Glass probably won't be your thing, and the opposite holds true. I don't and probably never will play metal, and I've tried chasing the clank out of my tone for years.

Definitely! We’d all be boring if we liked the same things.

As an aside, I love some tones that are the opposite, like the Fretless bass on “Wish it Would Rain Down” by Phil Collins. And the into and ending of Pearl Jam’s “Ten”; the fretless Wal.
Immense.
