I got a brand new Squier Mike Dirnt, put in a Quarter Pounder and a gotoh bridge. Bass and parts,new, for around 400. The bass itself was 179. Doesn't get much more punk.

Hi there, i've been playing bass for some time and have been accepted to play with a band and we have made a couple of songs, mainly punk music, but really i'm interested in all styles i listen to(play with a pick and with fingers) . I have been playing so long with the same bass(harley benton Standard series) so i was wondering witch bass should i look for, to give me some motivation and a cool sound, something not very expensive. My sound comes from a Fender Rumble 100. Any ideas? Thank you and sorry for my english

They look like Dimarzio Model J's, but I assume that's what you meant? They do make for a very nice compromise between the Jazz/Precision sound gap.

I should have realised you'd be somewhere in Europe, since you already have one bass from Thomann's house-brand.

Does punk make a lot of use of a low B string nowadays, or is it still 4 string keep it minimal territory. I literally have no idea about modern punk.

OK... duh! Probably one of the worst mistakes I have made in a while. And of course, it's on a forum for all to see! Anyway... yeah, those pickups would be perfect for Punk!

Watch out! Be careful what you say about punk. I got in trouble with the Mods, because I
suggested that punk rockers put stickers on their basses and guitars. I noticed you
show a ‘punk’ bass with stickers. Nice. Stickers on a bass: total punk rock move.
