My newest educational video series "Playin' Through the Real Book" is an exciting new way to learn the tunes that every jazz player needs to know. Whether you are just getting started learning to play jazz, are a more accomplished player who wants to build your jazz vocabulary, or a teacher looking for material for your jazz students, this series is perfect for you!

In each 10 - 20 minute video, I play through bass lines, solos, and chords for each song, demonstrating each section in "bite-sized chunks", both at-tempo and slowed-down, with brief explanations of what I'm playing.

Each download also includes a full transcription of the material and a .mp3 play-along track, all available RIGHT NOW and at a price that can't be beat!

Hi Todd, digging this one too! Any chance I can get treble clef versions of the comping pdfs I've got? I find it much easier read that register of the bass in treble clef. Hope you are doing great my friend!

Laurence!

Thanks for the kind words my friend!! I suspect we CAN get treble clef versions. It will take me a little while but I was planning on offering both. I'll talk to Rob and see what we can do.

Would you be willing to help??

Maybe I can have Rob send you the Sibelius files and you could transpose them to treble clef??? I could make it worth your while!!:)

Let me talk with Rob and get back to you. Cool??? Cool....

Talk to you soon my friend!

Glad you're digging the stuff, LM. I'll do the treble clef versions today and send them over to you. I'll also update the files for sale online, and send out notices on how to get the updates to those who purchased the comping lessons already.

I just realized I have almost everything you've published and have never played a gig outside of church on bass.

You are an awesome teacher Todd and the digital move is a very good one.

Thank you!

-Todd Canedy

BTW: If you could offer all three downloads in one zip file it would be convenient :)

Thanks TC!!! God bless you my friend....your support and friendship mean the world to me.....

I'll se what I can do about that zip file.....good idea. Thanks for the positive input!!!

Congrats on your anniversary!!!!

Hey Todd,
First let me say that the Walking Bass Mod 1 video is great.
I'm a fairly new bass player and I'm really enjoying getting the jazzy feel of the lessons.

Unfortunately, the audio seems a little hosed up.
Your vocals and the backing track both come through but the audio for the bassline is barely audible most of the time.'

It's frustrating because I'm straining to hear exactly what you play.

Otherwise I love it. It's a great methodology and even with the sound challenge I've learned a great deal!

Hi Expat,

I'm sure Todd will chime in as well, but I'm his "partner in crime", producing his videos (though this one pre-dates me), handling the website, etc., so I'll take a stab at solving your issue.

Not sure if you're using the downloadable version or the DVD but, compression aside, they are identical. Are you, by chance, using a laptop computer to view these? The *only* time we've heard of this with these videos was from a guy that was using a laptop (older MacBook, IIRC) and his internal speakers just weren't reproducing the bass parts well enough that he could hear.

Also, I think he might've been a little confused over the difference between the computer "master" volume and the volume control in the video player software (both often work independently). Nevertheless, once he put headphones on, he heard everything fine.

Any chance that any of these issues might apply to you? Let me know, and we'll go from there. Feel free to PM me if you like.

Thanks!

Hi Rob,
Thanks for the reply. I'm pretty computer savvy and don't think it's my laptop. I listen to a LOT of bass on there (YouTube and stuff).
But it could very well be exactly what you describe.
I have great set of headphones with lots of bass and I'll try it with those.
Hopefully it's that simple to fix.

Tell Todd I love the video downloads,

Jeff
