NGD: New Grill Day! (Is this a thing?)

So I love my Rumble 800 but I felt the black on black just didn’t do it justice; no mojo you know? So, once my two guitarists decided to get matching Marshall’s, I thought I would have some fun a get a matching grill cover to update my combo. I must say that I am more than pleased with the results which made it look like a vintage amp. The best part is I still have the old cover just in case. All in all the project set me back $50. Not too shabby if you ask me.
Looks great! Can you give some detail as to how you did it?

Looks great!
I just sent off for the Fender silver cloth to recover my Stage 800. All black isn’t doing it for me either.
I had planned on just removing the black and recovering in silver, but a replacement frame has me thinking. Did you just template the stock frame? What size board did you use? Thx!

I am by no means a handy-man nor a carpenter. I think I got something like 24"x 1"x 1/4" pieces and used a simple saw to cut the pieces while using the same lengths as the existing frame. I then got some cloth tacks and used these to first connect the new frame pieces together, and then to tack the back of the cloth. Then I just slapped on some velcro pieces in the corners and viola!

Sweet!

I just get the basic $100 Weber and replace it every two years. I don’t grill enough to justify getting a really fancy one.

I can't justify the cost of this grill either. Luckily, it was a gift from my father in law. He bought one a couple of months ago and loved it so much he bought me one for my birthday. His birthday is this month, so I'm building him a table for his grill to sit in. I do have a nice Weber propane grill. I only bought it because I got it for nearly fifty percent off. I know a guy who knows a guy kind of deal. Otherwise, it's been cheap charcoal grills my whole life.
