NHL Season 2024-25

McDavid becomes the fourth fastest to hit 1,000 pts. Behind Gretzky, Lemieux, and Bossy.

The top two were easy guesses, but was somewhat surprised at Bossy being third. I've always thought of him as strictly a goal-scoring machine, but not so heavy on the assists. I stand corrected. I was thinking more along the lines of Sakic or Lafleur being third.

Good point, but Bossy had loads of talent around him on those Islanders teams. Trottier, Nystrom, Gillies, etc. I've always thought of Lafleur as a scoring machine as well. But man, the Habs AND the Isles had some great teams in those days! And kudos to McDavid.

Flyers definitely stole 2 points from Ottawa last night. The Senators outplayed them for nearly the entire game, and were ahead 4-2 in the 3rd.

The Flyers huge goalie (Fedotov) has had his struggles. Tonight he gave up 4 goals, but still came up big on chance after chance by the Sens. Especially near the end of regulation and in OT. Michkov scored the OT game-winner from a very tough angle from the left of the Ottawa goaltender (who promptly smashed his stick on the post after realizing they lost after playing such a strong game).

Not a crazy fan, but been a Wild fan for a while, traveled to quite a few games (5 hours) and enjoy the games and arena. My wife keeps telling me I should be a Jets fan. It's only 2.5 hours and the exchange rate is like getting 20% off of everything. Not sure I can change alliances so easily. Could get to more games as I can do it in a day instead of two. No hotel costs. Economically it makes sense. Both teams are doing well so far. Any thoughts.

Watch them both and enjoy
I’ve had sliding alliances before

Just never the Red wings or Pens!

I've haven't yet been there but I'm pretty sure the food is better in Minneapolis. :)

* Sadly, Winnipeg is still orders of magnitude better than where I am now though (5 hours east of there...)

Not a Bruins fan but still somewhat shocked at the Montgomery firing. Yet Neely and Sweeney remain unscathed.

But I got enough to worry about with my lowly Penguins continuing to be a friggin' clown show. Need to rename them as the Two-Period Penguins, since they are in the habit of forgetting to show up in the third periods of quite a few games these past few seasons. Once again, they played very well against the Lightning, taking a 2-0 lead into the third. Plus Tristan Jarry looked like an NHL goaltender again, making big saves when needed. Then the third period comes along, and they blow that 2-0 lead, and lose in OT, 3-2. Deja vu all over again.

Tell you the truth, I kinda figured he’d be next
Montgomery being Bedard's next coach if Richardson is fired soon? Could be. Chicago's next nine games don't look too good, with Philly, Columbus and Boston being the weakest teams... though they did beat Minnesota last time. Not an easy stretch to start scoring and get some confidence.

Montgomery already lost the bench in Boston. That’s why they fired him

I don’t know what Chicagos problem is
