so i have a sweet $150 epi goth thunderbird. i'm a bit of a noob when it comes to little details to do with vintage sounding bass. I'm looking to replace the stock pickups, like all my other "cheap" (expensive in the end) project guitars. and i'm more a guitar guy doing bass for my bedroom recording project so please forgive me for not knowing this stuff. i'm more trying to get a stable of very different sounding basses for recording. not aiming for the most versatile sound but more having very distinctly different voices from each bass. the equivalent of having a broadcaster stye tele and a sg for recording.
i've been watching various demoes and i can't make up my mind. i think i also have not developed my vintage bass sound palette like my guitar palatte. so all the descriptions you have would be great.
can someone make some convincing arguments towards which ones i should replace with?
thanks
