Peavey Grind question

This is a Peavey Grind listed for sale (on another website) near me. This is the sellers photo. It isn’t normally a bass style I lean towards but for some reason have always liked the Grind design and played one in a store years ago and it left a good impression on me. The body on this one in the photos looks fine but this photo gives me concern. Why only one string, no cover for truss rod adjustment and what is that excessive wear on the fretboard? It is listed in working condition and includes hard case. Should I pursue if the price is low or does this wear cause a scare?

Also, I don’t know the differences on different Grind models - this has the traditional Peavey logo, but I have seen the other Peavey logo on other ones? Assuming that plays into the date released, but does it impact value?

Just looking for a fun beater bass that is a little different. So no problems looking elsewhere if it looks suspect.

I'm not convinced that's actual wear at the first fret. It looks more like a variation of the grain plus lighting. I say this because the light patches don't align with the string spacing. It would be a very odd location for wear to occur from playing.

Truss rod covers are moderated only slightly more than ball point pens. Both are easily replaced.

I think it's worth pursuing if it's at a reasonable price.
