This is super quick video I made because I found after saw my favorite store had a new shipment of Cirruses. I was almost on my way to choir practice when I got a call that my replacement preamp for my Ibanez TMB 605 was in, so I came by to drop it off on the way to rehearsal, when I saw a those sweet looking Cirruses that I had to play. All I say that in sound, fit, and finish, this is the real deal!

Looks great and sounds great. Sadly I think Peavey have missed the window of opportunity. It's over 14 months since Sweetwater started taking pre-orders for these, 2 month back SW dropped the Cirrus from their inventory :(

That in itself might not have been too bad,other vendors would fill the space. Problem with that is the USA has plenty Cirrus in the used market and a resistance to overseas versions of US products. Saving grace would then be European and Far Eastern markets Trouble there is not only have none of the worldwide distributors started supplying the Cirrus,after a year I stopped asking their UK people for a due date :thumbsdown: Another major problem is the wisdom of releasing a bass with a rosewood board weeks after the CITES restrictions !! To compound the madness they offer the Cirrus with a bubinga top,another CITES restricted wood :facepalm:

@Dr. Cheese you know I'm a big supporter of Peavey but this has me lost for words. Almost :laugh:

I think you make a lot of fair points. I hope the Cirrus survives. I think it is a great bass. I thought I was GAS free, but I sure wanted that Cirrus after I played it today. I doubt if I will act on it, but it would be $1,099 well spent.:bassist:

I just looked online and there is absolutely no 5 strings for sale anywhere in the U.S. as far as brand new and Peavey is just listing 2 dealers for there Cirrus bass, seriously is this bass already going to go the way of the DoDo bird.
I'm wondering if Peavey is even having more produced, only 2 retailers listed, That's A SHAME!!!!

I saw two fives at the store today. PM me if you are interested.

@gwangi
As I said it's a missed opportunity. BTW that's not just 2 dealers in the US,that'll be 2 dealers worldwide !!
Outwith the CITES rules Peavey dealership rules forbid sales from the US to countries with other Peavey sellers.
That means nobody outside the US can buy these.

Of course maybe I'm looking at this wrong. For the same price point I saw the Cirrus 5'ers on Sweetwater in Europe you can buy hand built German basses like Human,Clover or Sandberg.

That's very tough competition. Nobody can call you a loser if you didn't enter the race :thumbsup:

yeah, I was wondering what happened to the new Cirrus'. I saw a good deal of hype in 2016, saw them at NAMM, really liked em', saw them for sale on Sweetwater for about a month, and now it's like they never existed. Did they just not sell at all, so Peavey dropped the whole project like a hot potato?

Aw well, I got USA 6, so I'm happy regardless.
