Peavey is working it out:This Import Cirrus is Awesome!

Yo Dr. Cheese! Yes, those import Cirrus basses are beautiful instruments. A word of caution to all my fellow admirers of this lineup: You have to really check out the necks for strength and straightness before you buy! I purchased a gorgeous 4 string Cirrus crafted in Indonesia back around 2008 I believe. It had a 5 or more piece neck with a quilted maple top and was a beautiful looking, sounding and playing bass BUT......the neck was like a rubber band. I didn't notice till I got her home, that if I would fret an octave say a low G and a 5th fret G note at the same time, it would sound way out of tune. The neck was so flimsy that if I would play some harmonics and do a small neck bend for vibrato, all of the strings would easily just clamp down on to the finger board! It was unbelievable. I ended up taking it back to Steve's music in Toronto where they agreed there was a problem and refunded me my money, and I then left empty handed....:( It was too bad because that bass with those pickups and preamp had a gorgeous tone, reminiscent of the Ken Smith sound, only for $600 Canadian! So, check out those necks before you buy! ;)

It sounds like you may have had a BXP Cirrus. The one I demoed is a higher quality instrument.

These are not like the BXP line. This is like the US model with graphite reinforced necks and everything, it's just made overseas that's all
