Phil Lesh Appreciation Society: Enter the Philzone... v2.0

I like this portrait a lot.

Jason Scheuner, owner of Phil's Mission Control / Osrisis bass, has just released the PHILter pedal, based on the original Alembic filter electronics, which is similar to the SF-2 Superfilter. Seems pricey for a pedal, but compared to a brand new SF-2, it's not so bad. Whether it's of the same quality remains to be seen.

You could buy two of them and it would still be cheaper than an SF-2 (and there's a significant introductory discount). We'll see how it sounds soon. It was cloned right from Mission Control and was done by very reputable people, so my hopes are high.

Undoubtedly it will work with any bass, but if it's designed for Mission Control, I wonder if it would work better with Alembic active pickups.

I think they took that into account. That's just a matter of raising the input impedance to handle passive instruments and is simple to do.
