I just got my Dave's Picks Volume 52 in the mail today. 9/11/83, The Downs at Santa Fe, Phil was on fire & very clear in the mix.
I wasGood stuff. Were you at that show?
You could buy two of them and it would still be cheaper than an SF-2 (and there's a significant introductory discount). We'll see how it sounds soon. It was cloned right from Mission Control and was done by very reputable people, so my hopes are high.Jason Scheuner, owner of Phil's Mission Control / Osrisis bass, has just released the PHILter pedal, based on the original Alembic filter electronics, which is similar to the SF-2 Superfilter. Seems pricey for a pedal, but compared to a brand new SF-2, it's not so bad. Whether it's of the same quality remains to be seen.
Osiris Philter
Outboard version of the filters in Phil Lesh's legendary Alembic Bass known as "Osiris" aka "Mission Control". The PHILter is reverse engineered from the original filters built by George Mundy for Phil around 1972 or 1973.osirisphilter.com

Undoubtedly it will work with any bass, but if it's designed for Mission Control, I wonder if it would work better with Alembic active pickups. You could buy two of them and it would still be cheaper than an SF-2 (and there's a significant introductory discount). No such thing as Alembic active pickups. Nonetheless, the pickups work wonderfully with filters, as they are kind of FRFR.Undoubtedly it will work with any bass, but if it's designed for Mission Control, I wonder if it would work better with Alembic active pickups.
