Polarizing new bass incoming - Valiant Jupiter. What do you think?

The Ukranenians have proven to be experts when it comes to innovating and building things. I'm confident the build quality will be excellent. I ordered a Nixie Clock from Dnipro early on in the war. I had low expectations of it arriving in the mail since they were busy defending themselves from a brutal invasion. But I did receive a tracking number gave me hope. sent me a tracking number and it showed my Nixie Clock slowly moving through Ukraine but it stopped at Kiev and nothing happened for three months. I assumed it got blown up somewhere along the way. And then one day, it showed up at my door step in perfect condition. It's a symbol of my support for Ukraine.

I'm not really into "kitchy" offset bodies, but I like the sounds of the quartersawn/graphite neck. I also like the MusicMan style truss rod adjustment wheel. Oh....and purple is my favorite color. :-)

I love it and find it original and refreshing. I have seen enough bass guitars in same shape and color on this forum.
You hit the nail on the head. It was refreshing to see this pop up in a sea of higher end vintage fender clones at this tier of pricing. Bringing some fresher features to the table while not getting too far outside the box of tradition.

I like the bass but (begin short rant) overall I'm very bored/disappointed with all these builders doing fender spec instruments. Certainly the bass looks to be better than a fender in terms of fit, finish, and hardware. At the same time a 20 fret neck, 34" scale, and a P pickup in "the" spot has been done 1000 times. (end rant). I do like the paint job and neck inlays.

Looks like they've got Jazz necks so that's something
Seriously though, Fender doesn't make any bass with exactly this spec, so I have no problem with it. The more slavish copies seem a bit pointless to me, but I'm sure they wouldn't be building them if they weren't selling them so I'm not going to hate on anyone for catering to the market.

You either love it or hate it.

Just picked up this Valiant guitars Jupiter bass in "wildflowers" finish. This was a NAMM show bass. I like metalflake finishes but this popped up on reverb. The paint caught my eye. I guess each one is different like a painting.

I just wanted something a little different this time. From what I can tell in videos and photos the craftsmanship looks amazing for the price. Valiant is a 2 luthier (2 brothers) shop based in Ukraine. These guys are even making their own cases for their instruments, their own hardware minus tuners etc.

Quartersawn maple titanium reinforced neck with a J width nut, has some interesting features such as their bell bronze adjustable nut. I'm curious if I could quickly swap back and forth from eadg to a bead setup with this setup. Comes in at 6.85 lbs.

We will give this one a shot and see how it is. Should be an interesting.

Overall it's not quite my style but there are a few things that I really like about this:

-Nice headstock shape, it's Fender inspired obviously but a more aesthetically pleasing take on it than a lot of others I've seen.

-The sparky black to purple burst is really nice. I prefer the look of the back side however - the pattern on the front feels out of place.

-I really like the design of the pick guard and control plate.

-I like the look of that bridge, and the string tree. I've never played a brass nut but I like the look of it too.

-Contoured neck pocket corner!

-Truss rod wheel is a nice touch, though this is the first one I've seen in between two frets.

Overall, this looks like a really well made instrument! Happy NBD!
