Serious answer: Depends on the venue. Dress like the predicted customers, only a bit better.

If it's a venue where real cats sometimes show up, dress *right*, wear your deodorant and play like you mean it. That's how one gets gigs.

You know what? Yea!!! Who cares if you have clothes on? Who cares if you play "in tune" or "in time" or can even "play bass." I think it's time we stop restricting ourselves and just get out on stage and just do stuff. I don't know what the hell we should do, but we should just do it!!!

I don't generally worry about how to dress. I think it's more about what makes you comfortable. I always go with casual but neat. Clean jeans and a button down shirt or henley. I think today it doesn't matter all that much.

as an open mic is a microphone uncovered with any windshield muff, that mic is by definition ... naked. If it has a "puff-protection" on, well, you should wear one too!
