Post your song of the day!

Trying to discover jazz, and searched for "live jazz" on YouTube. The Yellowjackets' set opener, "Spirit of the west", is my SOTD:
Kinda bored listening to same old alt. rock, a change feels nice.

Tokyo.

An incredible piece; one of those that really makes your day when you hear it. Louis Johnson lays down a SOLID track that compliments the band in every way. I just learned that he passed away last year. Rest in peace.

My daughter's first original. Guitars, vocals and Woodskin drum recorded live with one condenser mic out front of the PA going into Reaper on the laptop. The bass, which I added when I got home, is nothing to rave about..... i'm in the Mediocre Bass Players club for a reason. The girls are 16 and 13 years old.

Today's SOTD is "Two Evils" by Bastille. One of my friends is a huge Bastille fan, and he told me to listen to their new album "Wild World". That song is only guitar and vocals (Bastille's bassist doubles up on guitar), but it's minimalist approach is what catches my ear. And though an alt. rock fan, Bastille is one of those pop acts who are really good. Just look ast their lyrics.

Very cool version. It sounded like someone hit a clanger of an off note at 1:15. Nice to know the pros are human.
They a killer band, during the break down Daryl and Cee Lo stomp on each other a bit too, the bass drums start really set the tone, Cry Baby is better than Cee Lo's studio version, I feel

After seeing it I went to the Daryl's House website and had a look at the Cheap Trick episode. If I had a decent amount of download bandwidth at home i'd be watching the whole lot at home. They hit a few clangers too, but it's so cool watching them all have so much fun. I'll just have to watch more at work.
