Post your Studio! <Talkbass Edition! v.01>

I’ve been setting up this space the last few months… it is an open TV room full of book shelves, and it has proven functional. I’m enjoying having a dedicated space to try things.

I’ve been building this space out since last October. It’s about 800sqft. The interface, monitors, and general mixing/overdub area is behind the blue curtains for the time being.

I’m currently building a vocal booth and will be rearranging the entire space over the next month or so to improve the “flow” and feel of the studio.

The first picture is the most recent one of the three. It shows the addition of a drum shield, and the microphones on the kit. This has dramatically increased isolation and allowed us to start doing high quality live-off-the-floor recordings for bands, even though the space isn’t necessarily 100% treated for such things. We’re up to 16 simultaneous channels and hope to increase this to 24 by the end of the summer.

It’s located in a former medical centre, in the old rehab room, which lent us the name for our studio. Other spaces on the building are being converted for other types of art (video, painting, solo rehearsal rooms), and I have one other room for myself which is dedicated to building and repairing instruments, pedals, and amps.

Just completed my home music room/studio setup. Not a huge space (converted bedroom)…Fairly new to the recording game, but looking forward to the challenge…View attachment 7052464View attachment 7052465View attachment 7052463View attachment 7052466
A bedroom is pretty much all you need these days, if you’re not trying to track live drums.

Your space looks great! Decently treated and window light for daytime sessions. I love it (and your rickenbacker there, too)!
