Rickenbacker 4003s Stereo mod?

Scooped mids from running both pickups in parallel? That's not how any of my Ricks sound...

sure it is, it's how jazz basses sound too; more highs, mids scooped out a little. (it's a great sound)

to be fair, classic rics with the cap on the bridge pickup sounded a bit different run mono into one amp, the cap isolated the pickups from each other a bit so the combo sound was not quite as scooped, at the cost of being a little weaker.

out of my depth here, not an expert on either vintage rics or chris squire; did this ric only have the stereo jack?
