Searching Artifakt Elements, new sounds from Source Audio

Yes, we are working on it. This community is very important to us and @Quatschmacher had a critical seat at the development table.
Struggling to see how useful this is on bass. I checked Quatschmacher's clips and they are very sound effecty/noisy, and while neat, I would like to see something more musical, if even possible with this thing? Patiently awaiting the Nate Navarro, Jesse Williams, and others bass videos.

Keep in mind that the 7 position selector was tuned with guitar in mind. With the edior, you will not be limited. That is indeed where you will want to be. Also, the collection of bass Neuro presets will continue to grow. We have a review meeting tomorrow on the editor. Should not be long.
Any chance you could implement an equivalent to the Atlas Bass Optimization Mode in the firmware, adding the ability to change the 7-position effects for more bass-centric presets with the simple press of a button?

This is where Neuro is going to be our friend. We just need for it to become stable. It's getting close. While we can invest some time into creating bass-centric presets, it is much more effective to have 100+ bass players around the world doing this at the same time as we are. The Jesse W. video is in the works and so is "Bass the World". I know with past pedals we have been able to release them with lots of Neuro presets, but in this case the timing of N3 was not ideal. Software of this level of complexity is not a straight and predictable line. Bottom line? There will be more and more bass presets in Neuro to explore that are not in the noise category.

I don't have one yet but I'm planning to get it as soon as possible. I can see myself using a lot of this with fretless bass and to get some really cool ambient tones.

It will depend on what you are needing or looking for sound wise and if are willing to dig for the Artifakts you seek. There are a lot of interesting sounds on bass already, using the presets and engine settings, once Neuro 3 is running it will garner much more control and possibilities. The distortion sounds are very interesting as are the modulation sounds and the Ladder / envelope sounds are unique and usable. The saturation compressor has a very natural feel and sound to me, I can't wait to do some excavation there.

While this may not be for every bass player just like the C4 and Ultrawave there are endless uses.

Lo-Fi effects are not for every gig but with the popularity of "vintage" sounds it could offer a one stop pedal for many. To my ear the Artifakt offers the missing Element in so many of todays amps, basses and effects that are so clean. For example my P bass has such a more vintage crunch and synth pedal sounds are more analog and fuller in sound.

I plan to do some meat and potato sounds for bass, piccolo bass, guitar and some settings for more sound production and mixing uses.

Getting some delicious sounds with my SBMM Ray 4 today using the engines.

Radio, tuned out the drop outs and turned off the noise using the compressions, treble and modulation resulted in some very tasty and yielded vintage sounds with this little beast, very radio era compressed and by varying the voicing, modulation and mix was tasty. The compression is simple and just right.

TAPE ~ very wide range of tape type saturation easy to dial in and mix, delay can be subtle condiment, oscillation could be used to annoy at the end of a phrase or song.

MuVERB offers a different style of reverb and the modulation is there too.

LADDER will be popular with bass players as you can add a dash or splash of distortion and really push and dig with the ladder filter working with dynamics.

VINYL and GLITCH for adding those textures and tricks to a recording or performance.

I am anxious to get under the hood to tailor and save my imagined mods and add those to N3.

Next question…

I currently have a pedal at the end of the chain that can do reverb and delay stuff - it’s not something I use much, or need super high fidelity as er… I play bass not guitar and it’s always interesting getting it to work in the mix…

So given the limitations of one time based effect at a time (which is fine) - what kinda sound does the delay and verb engine have? And … how well does it work on bass? Reason I ask is it can potentially replace the other pedal, and from reading around, the pedals that do reverb and delay well on bass aren’t always the same as guitar, and I tend to gravitate to the more low fi end where it’s not as polished as the grit comes through in the mix while the sheen doesn’t…

@Luke the Fluke my thinking is for most band situations the Artifakt would work quite well in context for the limited needs for reverb and delay. It does not provide long or looping delays or lush spacious reverbs but those are not always usable for bass in a band context. What is here has a grit and enough control to add some dimension and lots of opportunity for crunch. The compressor options are very nice for the end of the chain plus there is an EQ if needed and the modulation options allow some different textures too.

And even use it as a compressed full wet totally over the top effect - and use the master blend to bring it in…

I’m also intrigued by the graphic eq in the old gear section - when I had a HX stomp I tried cab sims and IRs but ended up with a eq block with high pass and low pass and some gentle eq as my equivalent of a cab sim - not as accurate as an IR but for me felt more imidiate and sent a signal to the desk that helped the bass slot in the mix better

I think someone already ask this and it was answered, but I'm still not understanding what the soft control is for? I haven't hooked up the pedal to neuro yet but am looking through the phone app. There's control 1 and control 2 with three options for soft control but in the next page for external control the knobs are specified and you can choose the assignments here. What an re the soft control ones?

I think you can set the knobs to control any variable or be a soft knob which gives better control over up to three variables…

@Annette & @Luke the Fluke It looks like up to three functions can be assigned for the two soft controls, this option offers the chance to do more complex parameter processing changes all tied to the same controller.

Spent a bit of time digging into options and created and saved a goofy sound so hopefully this is a sign that Neuro frustrations are nearing an end and I can dig for more Elements.
