Should I go for pawn shop bass VI or squier VM

I'm thinking about getting one but witch one is best? Im looking for answers to ppl that try out both of them by the way.

Edit: I'm truly a bassist but I the reason I want something like this is to add more notes to low ends and high ends.

Yeah save some money and get the Squier. I had one and it was very nice once you got a heavier gauge string and got the intonation to work. It was put together like a tank and sounded great. Oh sorry reread your post. I didn't try the other one. I did see a video comparing them and the Squier seemed to come out on top. That's what helped me form my decision.

The Squier is the most true in regards to the original (4 individual switches, with the strangle switch), while the Pawn Shop is a "hotrodded" variant with hotter pickups and simpler wiring. Both are very nice instruments for their money, but the Squier gives bigger bang 4 the buck. On both instruments, one should swap the stock strings ASAP to something more heavy, in order to fully benefit from the tonal range, especially the low E and A are lacking in punch & articulation with the stock strings. I'd vote for the Squier.

Had the Pawnshop, sold it, now have a MIJ VI (but that is four or 5 times the price of the Squiere). Would prefer the PS against the Squiere. The buildquality and workmanship on the PS is far superior to the Squiere. Nothing against Squieres in general, but the nuts and fretwork I've seen on some of the Squiere VI are terrible.

I had a Pawn Shop VI and was disappointed. The bridge rattled, and the bass was just uninspiring. To me. Not sure exactly what I was expecting when I bought it, but I played it few times... Took it to a rehearsal, and then it sat on a stand for 2 years. Just recently sold it.

If I ever have the desire to own a 6 again, I'd go with one of the less expensive non Fender ones. I forgot the one everyone was raving about when I bought my Fender... Eastman?

The Squier might be good, but I'm one of those guys who as much as I hate to admit it, shys away from the Squier label. People judge it, whether we want to accept that or not. I'd rather have a cool and unique looking one like the Eastman, than a cheaper "Fender". If that ain't an issue for you and you like the looks of the Fenders, then I'd advise you to save a few bucks and get the Squier.

I had the VM Bass VI. it was fine playing and the most authentic of the two. For the money I believe this is the best deal. I changed the strings to Circle K--they have an awesome collection of sizes for the VI. The Mastery bridge is a great update and aid to intonation.

Or is it "Eastwood"? As in Sidejack Bass VI? I have a Sidejack Baritone guitar; pretty nice, actually...:)
Das it yo!

And now I'm giving myself gas.

Much cooler looking, IMO, than the Fenders.

I would probably lean more toward a six strong bass tunes e to e than either of those, but if you are asking which one sounds better, the pawn shop sounds much better as a guitar and the squier sounds better as a bass, though neither of them really sound that good as either.

I explained my experience with the Squier in the other thread, but I just want to mention it won't add notes on the low end. You can mess with tunings, but standard tuning for a bass vi is the same as guitar, it's just an octave lower than a guitar.

Damn, that's nice. Much easier to upgrade a set of p90s too.

Definitely the coolest vi I've seen since the Schecter Ultra vi, and those are like gold dust these days.
Yeah, I pretty much immediately regretted buying the Fender when I saw that. It was like $300 less, too. This one hit me even harder...

Just doubled my own gas, too. I suck.
