Should I go for pawn shop bass VI or squier VM

The Schecter Ultra VI is a nice 6 string bass. I got one of those after I had to return a Squier Bass VI that I had that I waited a month to get, after I ordered it. The neck was completely screwed up on it and unplayable. It came from the factory like that. Needless to say, my opinion of Fender wasn't too high at that point. :P

I have to get the hell away from these threads. This is starting to get painful...

My affirmation for today will be, "If I buy it, I'll never use it. If I buy it, I'll never use it. If I buy it, I'll never use it..." And I'll break that up from time to time with, "I do not need another bass."

That being said, good luck everyone after watching this... you've been warned.

MIJ 2014. Kind of never looked back. It's the only Fender VI that has the correct bridge. Even the 3 or 4 k Fender Custom Shop version has the wrong bridge...

I have a VM VI. It wasn't perfect out of the box, it needed the usual set up and I gave it a few tweaks to solidify it as more in the bass side of it's range.
Heavier Kalium strings (.102), inserts on bridge posts to firm them up, shim the neck to increase the angle and pressure on the bridge, added a Duncan Treble/bass circuit and upgraded the volume pot. Blacked out the plastic, too. Had a bone nut installed and frets leveled (didn't need much at all) and got a hard case for it.
Bought the bass when they could still be found under $300 and I did most of the work myself. For a sub-$500 price, it is killing it!

I just picked up a "Pre-Owned" Squire VM VI for $200. Ordered the La Bella Flats. I'll see if that helps me warm up to it a bit. The string spacing only took a minute to get used to finger style, and there are Buzzes and Clanks here and there. Think I might look into upgrading the bridge if I decide to keep her. But for $200, couldn't pass it up!

In Germany, the La Bella Flats are 60,-! Still want them for my MIJ Fender VI...
