Simple Songs That Ain't So Simple

Good transcription from Aidan / BassMusician here :
The Killers – Somebody Told Me Bass Transcription

I would use the bass line from their live performance.
It's easier to understand. The bass line is more pronounced and more "specific" in their live performance video.

About the bass player.
Mark Stoermer is a very good musician, song-writer, bass (guitar) player, singer.
He has released his own 3 albums.

Thanks guys. I wasn't having any trouble figuring out the notes (when my band sent me the song they also sent an isolated bass version). It's playing the choruses, without fudging it at all that was tough. I played it relentlessly though, first at slow speeds - then at much quicker speeds. And doing that works. We're doing the song live tonight, first time for all of us :). I'm psyched.

I have learnt this song recently. It was a challenge because I still consider me as a beginner. The chorus is challenging because the fingers must "fly" :) I think I play it in a simplified way but it sounds good. My bass teacher told me that the bass line was great on this song.
I Wish you a very good show

Edit : have you seen her version :

:) She does a great job.

I'm far from being a beginner, and the choruses in that took practice for me. This has become a regular part of our set now, though I'm not sure how long that's going to last. I don't think it's as much of a crowd pleaser as the rest of band seems to think. I hate Mr. Briteside, but people seem to love singing along to that. Nobody yet is singing along to this.

Or maybe I just cant see it cuz I'm staring at my bass neck during the choruses :) .
