So, I start singing lessons this Friday

Thank You! Thank You! I'm here all week.

I commend you for your effort, and with a teacher like that, will be well worth it, I'm sure... I had a 4-5 lead vocal responsibility, when I played out... for insurance, I made sure the songs were within my range, and the my bass parts were solid, but not overly difficult... I made up for 'thum-thum-thum-thum', with 'thum... th-'thum, 'thum... wittly-thum-thum', sans vocals...

... yeah boy.

I'm getting better at singing and playing. My first year at it was rough. I sing AC/DC Live Wire, do it well for the most part, just saying "Oh stick this in your fuse box" trips me up hard for some reason. Little stuff like that throws me off. There was a couple songs we tried that were impossible. We wanna do Nowhere Man, but I don't think I can play the bass line and sing it. We'll find out.

Here's one time I'm not trying to be funny...

... I would practice singing the song, but simulate playing... It would help me find points in the song, where I knew a note would have to sustain a little longer (no playing), or a breather, in between vocal lines, where I could squeeze in some more bass fills... keyword... practice, of course. Good luck, brother!

I just discovered that some of the songs on SingStar (PS4) overlap with some songs I'm already practicing on Rocksmith.
So, here I am sifting through all those to buy & maybe one day I'll be able to play those and sing them at the same time

Weezer (Say It Ain't So)
Nickelback (Rockstar)
Judas Priest (Breaking the Law)
William Broad (Billy Idol) - White Wedding
Blue Öyster Cult - Don't Fear the Reaper
Bob Dylan - Knockin' on Heaven's Door
R.E.M. - Losing my Religion

(maybe later on)
Foo Fighters
Duran Duran *mostly for the challenging bass lines
3 Doors Down - Kryptonite
Garbage - I Think I'm Paranoid
Hoobastank - The Reason
Toto - Hold the Line

The folks who make the song packs are smart cookies. There are 5 songs in the pack, but only 3 are available to buy as singles...
of course the two songs I want are in the pack & not available as singles :meh:
I doubt I'll spend $7 to get $3 worth of songs :bored:

SingStar gives me something musical to do on days where I've worn out my arm playing bass :D

add: Oops, I forgot that just like most things musical, when the rubber meets the road I suck at it!
It's ok though, because the folks next door are trying to move out (rain slowed them down)
so this might be the last time they get to hear my vocal stylings
I did improve my stats on Billy Idol, Ramones, & Judas Priest!
