LOL! I’ve actually got that quote taped to my computer monitor. It’s good advice. Especially when you’re writing essays or fiction.
"Lucky Man" by Emerson, Lake & Palmer. The synthesizer solo breaks, (WEE-OOO, WEE-OOO, SQWEEEEE), have always irked the snot outta' me.
Guns and roses version of " knocking on heavens door". When Axle starts in with that nasally, screechy, over-prononced vocal....

Anything with melisma style singing ala Mariah Carey. Any time Whitney Houston would sing sharp. Most songs by Cher. Anything by Madonna.
In the movie "The Song Remains The Same", Jimmy Page plays excessively long solos.
So long, that the the identity of the song is lost and it becomes downright boring. 
I watched that movie once and was sooooooooo glad to see it end.
So my answer to the OP is, any song with an excessively long guitar solo.

That’s not even a good song by their standards. They are amazingly gifted writers and performers.
Joni Mitchell's live concert video with Jaco was pretty much gutted by artistic shots of coyotes chasing mice and 50s movie clips instead of showing the players rocking out.

"Welcome to the Fold" by Filter has that weird, trippy bridge. I wouldn't say it's annoying or ruined by any means. Just weird.

I don't like the instrumental middle part of "Magic Carpet Ride". It ruins the song for me.
True story: When Joe Satriani released Satch Boogie, he received numerous cassette tapes in the mail, with versions of the song with that annoying guitar part in the middle edited out. Just doesn't fit the song.
I hope you don’t mean the whistling part? That was in there because he didn’t have lyrics yet and he died before they could finish it. Then it became a classic....
But the abrupt return to the refrain that sounds like a tape splice just ties it all together....
