Stain under Tru-Oil?

Here's how it came out:

Probably should have let the bare wood suntan a bit in UV before coating? Would richen the colour a bit. I didn't use any yellow in the very diluted stain, but maybe it will darken and amber up a bit over time. Pleased with it.

Wife just asked if it was finished (yet). I suspect not entirely out of interest in the bass...

Lavaguard pickguard BTW. Fits perfect, awesome!

Odd side question: What kind of side output jack is usually used on 50s P bodies? I was trying to look at pictures on the web, but almost none give a good look at the jack. One seemed to be a cup style, but not sure if that is typical. Thanks!

Actual vintage spec is going to be the traditional Telecaster output jack cup.



Unless you have a need for original spec I’d suggest an Electrosocket. It’s a much better piece of hardware.
