Steely Dan Live Last Week

Actually your comment has nothing to do with the topic at hand. The topic was about SDs bassist, not about whether or not SD is still legitimate after a founding member dies.

You're hijacking my thread with your ranting and then complaining about everyone else's responses.

Please forgive me for highjacking your thread sir. I believe that my comments were legitimate and pertinent. There was no rant, just a couple of sentences. What did I complain about? I understand that TB is a rather cliquish club, where longtime members and mega posters carry on their personal conversations without pause or complaint. But when a 10 year neophyte on TB posts a thread that some people find disconcerting, it's a major flare-up. I am not interested in the least in being a part of that clique, and I will post whatever I chose to.

So how about "no Eagles without Glenn Frey" in spite of the fact that they still have Joe Walsh, Don Henley, and Timothy Schmidt? I saw them a few weeks before the SD show and, let me tell you, they were most DEFINITELY The Eagles. It was a kick ass show from one end to the other and all points in between. Sure, it would have been great to have Glenn, but they made it all work and it was pure awesome.
I don't find that losing one player in a large band such as the Eagles to be applicable, but I'm glad that you enjoyed the show. When founding members die or are pushed out of the band for purely egotistical and financial reasons (the Who's Entwistle and Moon, Yes' Chris Squire and Jon Anderson, etc.), it is in my mind, disrespectful, and unethical. The replacement players could just as easily reform under a new name and play THEIR own new music if they're that good. What's next, a Beatles revival with Paul and Ringo?
