Nice vid and playing!

I like the BB split only pretty well for everything. Prefer the Ray for fingerstyle and slap and the BB over the Ray for picking. Perhaps they would be equal if treble was cut a bit when picking on the Ray.

I generally don’t like the pseudo J sound of PJs as much as I used to. The variance in sound between the string pairs nags at me though that one doesn’t have such a stark difference.

I go back and forth on this honestly. Some times the PJ sound can annoy me with the uneven sound between the top and bottom strings.

I had a Stingray Special H 5 string. While it was a really well made bass and drop dead beautiful, I never really bonded with it. I replaced it with an American Professional V with an aftermarket Sadowsky preamp. Today I got a Yamaha BBP34. It’s used and is a little banged up. But what a bass! I suspect I’ll mostly solo the neck pickup but can see myself pulling in a little bridge from time to time depending on the song. So my vote goes to the BB!
