Tame Impala Lonerism bass strings

I purchased a 500/1 CT hofner bass a few months back and have bought some D'Addario ECB81M Chromes Bass flats to try and replicate the slide-sound and tone of 'Lonerism' but I think they lose the muted tone I liked with strings that came with the bass originally.

Does anyone know the strings Kevin used when he recorded Lonerism? Or any that give a similar tone? Thanks, from very much a bass noob!
I believe he used D'addario chromes. Love that sound on that album. I know he uses a SVT live.

As previously mentioned the modern bass tone on currents is just a jazz bass with chromes through a Aguilar. You can see that here:

As you can see here, the lonerism bass tone was a hofner with flats, (no silk, so difficult to identify) played with a pick direct with a tube compressor of some kind.

Tame Impala is Kevin Parker's project. Everything is written and recorded by him. When touring he brings his buddies along. What you see them playing live is not necessarily what was used on the records. Cam Avery plays a J because that's his bass. Kevin records the bass parts using his Hofner. Sometimes he runs it through his guitar effects chain. Sometimes it is run directly into the Ableton software on his Mac laptop.
