Double Bass Test DB Prefix Designation

Those red prefixes are way too prominent. They're like row after row of shouted warning signs.
Here's an example. There's no way to adjust the width of the right column that contains the thread titles, so space is already at a premium. And now the enormous (and gratuitously red) Double Bass tag crowds out most of the remaining space.

Hmm. I don't ever view the forums that way, but I see what you mean in that instance. It seems more of a column width issue, though. When i look at the BG forums in that view, it's only slightly better and most titles are also cut off:
Not a fan! Once again, not enough space left to see the title of the thread, and thus, if I want to read it or not. If this is indeed a column issue as has been suggested, can someone tell us how to fix it?
Is there a reason you guys aren't using the Forums > New Posts feature coupled with the "Watched" forums of your choice? Here is what it looks like:

Because I don't want to sort through and/or read every new post on TBDB. Some forums interest me more than others, and I visit them first. But I don't ignore the other forums, and end up checking them later. Being able to see the title of the most recent thread helps that attention triage.
I'm more annoyed by the color of the prefix than anything else. Red is pretty universally used as a notification/warning/"take action" color on the web. The prefix is none of those things and calls far more attention to itself than is necessary.
In fairness, at this point just about every way of doing this has been tried. And every way tried has either (a) drawn the ire of TB members, (b) failed to work, or (c) both. If you can find one that only hits (a), call it a success and move on.
I prefer the latest iteration, by a lot. It makes it super easy to see that's a DB forum post.

A simple color change to the prefix would still distinguish DB threads while not overpowering the page with distracting red warning buttons. It also has the benefit of allowing the red "new post" dot to actually stand out as intended.
Why is there no prefix on that thread title?
@Chris Fitzgerald I believe I have fixed the column width in the forum list after a long time of pulling my hair out. Let me know if it looks better.

I'm ok changing the color from red to something subtle, and keeping the Double Bass text, if folks would prefer.
I’d love it if we kept it long enough to see if it has the desired effect.
Reminds me of a old joke:
A man walking by a field sees a farmer beating a stubborn mule over the head with a 2x4, and yells - "Hey, stop hurting that poor, defenseless beast! ", to which the farmer replies - "I'm not trying to hurt him, I'm just trying to get his attention!"
Please keep the RED, it's very attention-getting.

If we're doing this democratically, my vote would be for something a little more subtle. The dark blue was a decent mid-spot between the huge red warning sign and the little beige "DB."
Strong "yes!" vote from me!
And a big thanks for expanding the column width. I appreciate the responsiveness and concern of the TalkBass staff!
