I just heard it for the first time today and "Flora" is exactly what I thought too.

I think he's in his early 60s now. Was the guy for World Entertainment War back in the late 80s/early 90s. Fretless monster.

That's with me too. Lot of remote bass tracking as well and really out improvisation or conduction projects. My sanest/palatable gig is with a female jazz singer song-writer. Duo format mostly.
