Now I think I can pick up a Zon tone. For the longest time was reference was Michael Manring. But hearing this, now I know the sound DNA that they all have, I can never get that sound in my fretless basses.

Yeah I totally dig that. I think your syncopated ghost notes in the first opening minute might have muddied things up if there had been full on drums but since it was so sparse, it helped push the feel a bit more. As soon as the vocals kicked in I was suddenly thinking of the first few Haken albums. If you’re not familiar with them, check out Visions or The Mountain.

Anywho, great playing and LOVE that dry woody tone. I REALLY enjoyed that.

Dude, that's awesome! If it were me, I'd try another take and push the envelope even more but I know studio time costs money. Can you do it at home and send them the stem? The bass is totally the star of that tune...nice!
