I've posted this question as a stand-alone thread but I'll delete it if I get some responses here.

I'm looking to buy a 4 string Warwick Corvette and I need a tonal comparison among the different versions available, especially the following four;

-Bubinga Standard Passive
-Bubinga Standard Active
-Bubinga $$
-Swamp Ash Standard (Passive I think, but I'm not sure)

Can anyone help me with the differences soundwise between these four?

Instead of trying to explain in words how each bass sounds, I think instead it would be much easier if you described the tone you're looking get? That way, someone could give you advice on which of the four would best suit you...

Does this get me in?? '04 Streamer Stage One:

:eek:

That's HOT! That's exactly the bass I want to complete my Wick collection...

I guess I might as well jump in here.

This is my Streamer Std. that I bought used over the summer. It's a year 2000 model so it would have been one of the last made in Germany before they started making them with Rockbass.

It's the least money I've spent on a bass guitar (the Warwick used market is awesome) and it's by far the most solid piece of instrument I've ever played. Out of my Lakland and Fender its the only guitar that sees any action both gigging and practicing. Going to the Lakland after the Warwick feels like going from a BMW to a Kia.

The Lakland and Fender are still great instruments and will probably see more action down the road, but it's hard to put down the Warwick when it sounds and feels so darn good. This is the way I've always dreamed a bass should be.

Daywalker, you've been PM'd for my membership number.

I've been meaning to get pics...didn't realize my phone actually takes really decent photos. Here's my 2006 Warwick Corvette Standard Active 4-string. Nothing out of the ordinary, but I like to believe each Warwick is unique in its own way!

"Mods" (if you can call it that):
