Whoa!

Inverness Green? or faded Pelham Blue? Regardless that bass rules! Simply stunning.

Thanks for sharing it with us, I've updated the #'s on the previous page - You are #77 :)

I missed Scott's bridge on that bass, I have one in the parts drawer to use on my Greco Thunderbird II when it gets refinned - I gotta say the Inverness Green is looking really good!

2008 gibson t bird, minty. Just got it for 900$.

I love the color. I also really think the solid colors and particularly the metallics emphasize the 'space-age' early '60s auto design roots of the t-bird/firebird. While not a metallic, I do remember seeing a Cardinal Red II years ago and have jonesed for one ever since.

Automobile designer Ray Dietrich was the man! I like solid, non traditional colors on them too. Yours is only the second one I've ever seen in that color, a very rare and beautiful 'Bird!

Yep, agreed. Along with Richard Arbib, Raymond Lowey, George Nelson, and a few others - but they didn't do basses!

Would sure like to find an original truss rod cover for this one (or any one with the logo in the same place as the '60s ones).

I love the case, i had the pink with my natural '03 bird. My girlfriend has a les paul with a white fur case so it matches well.

78 works for me, loving all the youtube vids I watched a ton of them, PM me if you ever play around portland.

is it weird that the only solid color basses I like or that look right to me are thunderbird basses? I like natural, burst or transparent finishes on all basses (aged white sometimes) and natural or burst on Tbirds but definitely dig every solid color I've seen on a tbird.

What a beautiful bass! I am more than flattered that you think enough of my bridge to put it on such a beautiful bass !

I was so glad to get something of the quality of your bridge - that required no modification of the bass and which made the bass fully usable and only enhanced the tone without a radical change. You were the first with a really good idea and saw it through to making them/having them made to a top quality standard. Thank you - worth every penny and more! It's been on there since 2005 - never any problem with it.

In 1977 I wandered into the local music store and, seeing I was a pretty big fan of Wishbone Ash's Argus album at the time, plunked down a slice of my disposable income on a new '76 Black Thunderbird. I'm not certain why or when, but at some point I put it up for sale.

Lately I've been gawking at the Mike Lull T5, which would be very well-suited to one of the musical projects that I'm working on and wouldn't you know I stumbled across the warranty card for my old TBird. So, a black '76, Lot 0417 and the number ends in 51. Anyway, if that matches your instrument which was purchased used, there's a pretty good chance the bass came from Ottawa. I'd love to know that it got into the hands of someone deserving.

Still gawking at that Lull T5. Maybe I'll come skulking around looking for a number at some future date. Guess I had better go buy a lottery ticket now. :D

Cheers.
