I've had it for 30 years now. Got it at 20-y.o. in Mogadishu. It's only gotten worse from being in bands, and listening to music, but I can't stop. I love playing and listening too much.

I just ignore it and sleep with a fan running.

When I was in the Army, we had generators that were essentially helicopter turbines. I remember at the beginning of my time at that unit that the generator had a high pitched whistle as it started up. The last time I heard it didn't have the high pitched whistle. I thought, "Cool, they finally fixed it." It wasn't until many years later that I realized what really changed.

Since 1970 in Vietnam, 255th Field Artillery Counter Mortar/ Counter Battery Radar Detachment. It got really bad two days back, especially the left ear. I played the nice Fender and had a hard time hearing it. So I quit coffee, see if that helps. The roaring toned down on its own but no baseline improvement yet. I'm also taking for a few weeks Dr Chris Kresser's Bio-Avail organic mushroom capsules. Lion's Mane, reishi, Cordyceps and two others. Anecdotal testimony here says it can improve tinnitus and neuropathy, sometimes combined (stacked) with psilocybin and niacin, though I've not tried that.

Man....I don't know if I could quit coffee. I've started to dabble with tea. I'm seriously considering quitting alcohol though. Never been much of a drinker anyway, but I just don't enjoy it anymore.
