ummmm,....anyone have any info on this? Bergantino content

Very surprised reading this. The Super Pre is the quietest Preamp I have ever used. I was stunned at how quiet it was.

It is the noisiest unit I have got for the moment. I have try using it on a Berhinger X32 rack unit which we use as an In Ear system. No problem with my darkglass or JF Capo but the SPre is really noisy and the Ground Lift doesn't make any difference.

XLR out (XLR - XLR cable), and if I use or not the ground lift it doesn't make a difference. I have try on my SSL 2 too it doesn't make less noise.
I have absolutely no problem with other pedals I have including JF Capo, Darkglass Photon (which is fully digital too) and Tech21
Does the unbalanced line out into an amp or mixer exhibit the same noise issue?

Before the tone controls, if engaged, you have the effects, followed by the compressor, followed by the VLPF, followed by the tone controls. Next is the Effects loop(if engaged). The scene adjust volume comes after the effects loop, then the VHPF, VFBF, and Speaker profiles, then phase. The master comes after and does not affect the Post DI volume and the Phase only affects the line out and not the DI outs. And lastly, the Output Level Adjust.

I'm just here to let everyone know that the Super Pre is just the culmination of the IP series speakers :p Finally, the perfect preamp to accompany this now-rare little monster of a rig. I feel like it was a rig that was 17 years in the making!

You have no idea how close the Super Pre (and to an extent, the B|Amp) hits home to some of the very first conversations I had with Jim when I was auditioning the IP322 prototype. Jim has had these exceedingly excellent thoughts in his head for a long, long time!

That's very cool man! I've been wishing I could have a Berg rig for a long time but they've always been out of reach price-wise and I've never come across one used here in Nashville. Got super lucky a few weeks ago and nabbed a set of IP112/ext..got the super pre to pair and I've been blown away at every gig/rehearsal so far. An absolute monster tone-wise, and has controlled every room (and I've already played in a couple sonic nightmares).

That is an amazing rig you have, there! Congrats! :bassist: :bassist: :bassist:

Anyone have try getting a tight metal tone using the crossover like a darkglass X7, tech21 YYZ boost ?
So far (and I've only had this for two weeks so I'm probably not deep enough in), I've found some success by starting with the blend at 100%, THEN eq'ing the patch as a whole (look to fool around with the high mid and hi frequency bands), and then fooling with the crossover, and finally the blend. I don't use much distortion or overdrive, but have gotten a pretty convincing Robert deleo OD and an ok geddy patch. Gotta revisit them and keep tweaking tho

Don’t forget the VLPF. Bringing that down into the 2-3.5khz range while incorporating drives can be a very valuable tool. Also eq goes a long way in getting your favorite drive tones as most drive pedals have their own inherent and unique voicings to them.

Will do, Jim, thanks!

Off to another gig with the IP's/super pre tonight. The VFBF has been the star of the show in different smaller rooms, absolutely cleans things up. I'm playing at lower stage volume and hearing myself better.
