More good info, thanks. It gets warm but to the touch it feels the same temperature as my GK MB500 or Quilter BB800 when using those amps, same bands and venues.

i got mine on Friday from amazon. it was brand new and it looked like it had never been out of the box.Is yours is a recent purchase? Are you pushing it very hard when you play?
Good to hear. (Noted that yours was bought 2 years ago.) Does yours get very hot when you play?
So it's a recently purchased, new amp from Amazon, you're not pushing it hard, and it's running really hot despite that, correct?no no i got mine on Friday from amazon. it was brand new and it looked like it had never been out of the box.
yes its hot...warmer than expected...warmer than the top of an older iMac.So it's a recently purchased, new amp from Amazon, you're not pushing it hard, and it's running really hot despite that, correct?

I'm afraid I don't know how warm old iMacs get, but I gather that the amp is toasty. Is it hot enough to be uncomfortable to touch?yes its hot...warmer than expected...warmer than the top of an older iMac.
I think I replied before you expanded upon your post. My concern would be that, though tiny and convenient (and people here seem to like the sound), it might not be a very reliable backup amp (given the failures reported and that yours seems to be running hot).i got mine on Friday from amazon. it was brand new and it looked like it had never been out of the box.
no i'm an amateur player in my bedroom so its not like I'm pounding out 200 watts for a concert. but it does get warm just sitting on my cab when i leave it on for an extended time. I would be concerned it could be a fire hazard if I put papers on top of it. thats probably an exaggeration but who knows.
i have an Ampeg solid state taking it sweet a$$ time coming to me from Reverb and I will probably send back the bam to amazon in another week. i don' have a need for two amps like this.
however, if I were a gigging musician, this bam would likely stay in my travel case always. it seems a very reliable backup at least to me from my little experience with it.
As I sit here between my '72 Super Lead and my SVT CL. I wonder, why?
"blowed up real good"...
Ok…add one more to the list. Mine went bad after about six hours play time. Sent back to Amazon.
And the honeymoon is over. About six hours of play time (not being pushed) and poof... Smoked up with an awful burnt electronics smell.
Back to Amazon it goes...
"blowed up real good"...
It was an oft-repeated phrase in SCTV's "Farm-Film Report" sketches, in which two rural farmers in bib overalls would report on the day's farm commodity prices and then review a current film. The two guys were fans of big effects movies, and their highest praise was that something "blowed up real good...yup, blowed up REAL good." It was an operative expression in my business to describe particularly catastrophic failures for years and years; even my old lady has found occasion to use it.My pops always says this.
