What are you reading Chapter 4

This should be an interesting read. The is a reprint of a book from 1922 under a slightly different title.

I finished "Medieval Lives" the other day. It's a sort of fictionalized account of important conversations that could have happened amongst various personalities spanning the Middle Ages. Basically, the author took some liberties regarding exact time and place to create dramatic (but characteristically accurate) dialogues amongst important figures of the day. Eight total "scenes", spanning the breadth of the Middle Ages. Each scene had two major viewpoints being discussed amongst peers, and was entertaining as a sort of historical fiction. But I think I prefer my straight history books as of late.

At some point, I'll likely get back to my sci-fi, but lately, I haven't been able to get into it. Anybody have thoughts on the Donaldson's "Thomas Covenant" series or Card's "Homecoming" series? Those are both likely to be my next sci-fi venture, or maybe some random Timothy Zahn books I have yet to read - maybe his "Conqueror" or "Cobra" series.

The Golden Compass - Philip Pullman

I know I'm considerably older than the audience this is typically marketed to, but it's been on my radar for 20 years and I never got around to reading it when I was in middle or high school (partially because my parents were among those who weren't too fond of Pullman's views on religion). However, apart from the fact that I'm getting through it pretty quickly, there's not much about it that seems directly targeted at younger readers. I'm also thoroughly intrigued by the world it takes place in.

It's a fabulous series. I reread it as an adult and also enjoyed the HBO series.

If you have any interest in, or need to understand trauma, this is an impressive read.

I am sadly all too familiar with his work as a result of my professional life. I wish it were not necessary.
As someone who suffers from PTSD and has treatment for a long period of time....Is this book helpful?

I heard a therapist use the phrase 'Let it Go' with ex service men/women...and am practising use of that phrase
