What did I just buy? Vintage BC Rich content

There are only two basses I still have any gas left for - a 4004 Ric and one of these. Had recently been gassing for a '51 P type, found it recently on Ebay at a good price and had to jump. Unless I find a hell of a deal on one I'll likely not ever get the Ric cause I'm too cheap to spend that much. If I could just find a Mockingbird at an acceptable price... Damn you guys...

Now and then the old MIJ NJ series will show up for reasonable prices!! I'm talking neck through and almost as good as the handmades for alot less....

Keep in mind they only made them in Japan until 87' or so

I've looked a little bit. Yeah, the '87 and earlier are kinda hard to find and not inexpensive. I've got like 7 basses now, wifey just about fired me over this last one. Damn it...

Wow lots of love for these old BC Riches.

Funny enough I never even considered getting a mockingbird, I was really on the hunt for an eagle, but while searching I would come across a few mockingbirds and I kinda fell in love with the shape.

For those asking who didn't see the eBay listing, I won this for $750 + $80 shipping. I did not expect to get this for anywhere near that but maybe I have some good karma on my side.

Thanks for the info, so likely a 83, longhorn model that was custom ordered since its mahogany and doesn't have the Neal moser electronics. The ones with all the switches are badass but honestly I'm a fan of simple so this may work out better for me.

I did some searching on the net and found this one which is pretty similar.

I almost forgot JohnK_10 designed this thing. He restored my 66 Jazz for me a few years back. Guess I'll have 2 basses that I have him to thank for!

Thanks @johnk_10 !!!
