What do you do for lighting?

Yeah im worried the slowest fade setting is too fast for that. We'll see. The nice thing about the remote is it'll be super easy to change the mode. I also think I'll master/slave them together to be sure they stay in sync.

I prefer them to not be in sync. I have them all set to slightly different fade times so there's always a different mix of colours. Here's a more recent video at the same gig. Once again, just 4 cheap AVE par cans. The video is a little darker than reality.

If you're wondering why the lead singer is sitting it's because she's playing kick and snare with her feet. The sound is recorded at the desk on a Soundcraft Ui12 and was rendered just a bit high in Reaper, hence a bit of clipping is evident.

I work with an act that has light bars that clamp to the PA stands.
No rack needed, lots of light, I'll have to get the name.

It was only after this thread originally started that I thought i'd have a closer look at my top boxes and realised that they have a flying point on top. I found a couple of bolts that fit and now just bolt one LED can on top of each box. I'd been gaffer taping them on top for years.....

Did someone say lights?

A little beyond the typical weekend warrior setup me thinks...

Haha...ok you caught me. I own an event production company. Those are two events that we did this past season. The reception for an Indian Wedding and a charity event featuring Taylor Hicks.

Honestly I try as hard as I can to avoid bringing lights to any typical bar gigs that I do. The way I see it is the venue needs to have things installed or hire it out if they want that. We are there to play music. Plus doing things on the level that I often do I really have a hard time bringing myself to throw up a few things and set it to sound mode.

As a venue manager for over 20 years o agree...... even if it's just a few cans. The videos i linked to are on the small stage at the club i run. It's not much but it's by far the best looking stage in town. A black curtain and four lights makes a big difference.

I've shown up for a few bar gigs where the bartender cut the room lights during our first song and we were totally in the dark.

I've added 4 of the led pars i mentioned to my setup. They work pretty well. I put one on top of each of my speakers and use the other two as uplights.

I didn't bother to master/slave them, just let each one do it's own slow fade.

I'd still like to try connecting them together and letting our singer use the remote to switch between slow fade, sound active, and strobe. It's a pretty low tech solution but gets the job done.
